A second small business...?
Gosh, it's a been a while since I added a blog....the diary has been packed recently, and I haven't had a moment to dedicate to updating the site .... I bet you're wondering why, right?
Well even if you're not, I'm going to share the goss regardless! So you'll probably recall that alongside Marketing Girl Friday, for the last year I have been a Deputy Registrar for weddings, renewal of vows and naming ceremonies. Most weekends, this has taken me to beautiful venues, to meet some fabulous folk and experience some brilliant ceremonies. It's a role I've loved, so much so, I decided that there might be a little gap in the market for an independent celebrant... and with 100 ceremonies under my belt, I decided to hand in my notice, take my professional celebrancy qualifications and give it a shot.
Thus I launched Celebrant in Cornwall - only yesterday! - and now I am hugely looking forward to introducing my smiley, super-organised, genuinely happy and creative soul to couples and families who are as keen as I am on devising ceremonies that are completely unique and personalised - not a formulaic script or bureaucratic list of restrictions in sight! And as I have been developing the business, I have been surprised by the number of folk who aren't aware of the role of a celebrant (you can check it out here!) and how it differs from a legal registrar. But it's truly heartening to learn that people see it as a meaningful alternative to the standard ceremonies offered by the Registration Service.
So if you want to follow my antics when it comes to the world of weddings, you're going to need to head over to my new blog. I really hope to see you there.
